The ability to see and understand movement is important to human psychology for without it we would not have survived savanna in primitive times. As we respond so strongly to movement I believe it is one of the formative languages able to be used in works of art.
For this reason it has become an important element in the content of my work. In addition it introduces the element of time to otherwise lifeless three dimensional objects. This fourth element creates a very powerful effect that illustrates my intention to create an active relationship between the viewer and my work. By creating movement in the piece, it brings the object to life. With movement, the artwork can become more expressive and dynamic.
